Does anyone have information about the omega 3 contraversy? Some are saying that the ratio between omega 6 and omega 3 is what matters, and that fish oil is a better source than flax oil. D'Adamo endorses flax oil, but does he address this contraversy? Is it different depending on blood group?

Exercise Right 4 Your Type?

I've heard that the Eat Right 4 Your Type program recommends certain fitness routines depending on blood type. Does anyone follow these?

From what I've heard, being an A, I should focus on light "exercises" like walking, stretching, and yoga. While I employ stretching in my workouts, I walk but not for exercise, and I wouldn't mind learning some yoga, BUT, I really enjoy heavy weight lifting and jogging. I do have to admit though, that while there have been definate health, fitness, and physical benefits from increasing weight lifting and jogging, I have noticed that I tend to often overtrain (that is overstress my nervous system) also. At times, this coupled with other stresses in life has aided in the development of chronic fatigue, depression, and may have contributed to my recent candida spread (the more one uses ones muscles, the more lactic acid builds up, acidifying the body).

I'm not sold on the blood type diet completely(I've tried it before with nothing good or bad to result from it) but I continue to have some interest in it so I'll be glad to hear what the thoughts are.

Hi - I'm new here, and I have one big question which is blocking me:

I'm O... my dad was OO and my mom was OB (so she's B)..... doesn't that mean I have some B is me? My ancestry (almost all of our ancenstries) are very mixed with ABO. Must my body behave according to my blood type? What if I got my stomach and its acid content from my mom's genes? MUST blood type dictate digestive power?

I'm sorry if this question comes up all the time and I just missed it. Thanks!

I need to heal my immune system so I'm thinking about trying this diet. However, I researched it a few years ago and the book said that my AB husband was supposed to be able to tolerate dairy better than any of the other blood types. Well, he is terribly lactose-intolerant! That made me a bit skeptical of the principles of the diet. I, OTOH, am type O so dairy should be forbidden, but I don't seem to have any issues with it. I went to an acupuncturist last year who waved a thingy over me while I held some vials and she said she felt that I could tolerate dairy all right, but grains and sugar are bad for me.

Is the diet just a general guideline, not hard and fast rules for everyone?

Hi,

I've been on the A diet for five years, and feel great for it. Rarely ever get a cold, infection, flu.. My weight has been a few pounds over ideal, mainly from lack of exercise sometimes, but maybe from eating too much chicken, turkey, etc. I'm considering going vegetarian (with the occasional salmon or sardine exception). Any comments?

I just started my blood type diet about 2 weeks ago and I can NOT believe how effective it has been. I have had sooooo much more energy and have felt up to doing all the other things that my health needs.

After spending nearly 3 years going from other diets to other diets, being told that red meats are bad, but at the same time trying to deal with a congenital kind of annemia has been so hard, but this diet is awesome. It has the right balances and it's so easy to do- my nutritionist gave me a cool little poster that just lists the beneficial, and avoid foods as well as the nutriel foods, and then all I have to do is for every meal eat the right percentages, high vegetables and a little meat- this last week I was even up to taking a dancing class, something I haven't felt up to for about 18 months!

I'm so jazzed, but does anyone else in the Blood O have serious cravings for some of those avoid fruits? I swear, I see a Kiwi on my way through the produce mart and I start salivating@!@!!

Anyway, glad to be here, looking forward to ongoing health!
~smile~

Hello, I haven't yet gotten the book. It's one of the things on a long list of things I have to get to.
Anyway, I am very curious. If I remember I should be a B. However I have no idea what that means. Is there any kind of guidelines for a B? Like are there certain kind of foods I should avoid in general, or certain sorts of foods I should load up on?
I have been a serious meat eater, a vegetarian, a vegan, also a cheating (with fish) vegan and vegetarian, finally I just got too hungry and gave it up. Now I'm an omnivore who is on an off the Atkins diet (which did actually help me lose 15 pounds). I feel though that I need some sort of structure in my diet. I don't know whats good for me anymore. And I know I can't do this Atkins thing forever.

I'm very interested in gettin' the lowdown on this. I've been vegetarian for quite some time, heard of this recently on the radio, and then saw it on tribe. Could you please recommend resources to get the basics? Web, books, and zines would be welcomed, and /or phone numbers for consultation - especially with a knowledgeable nutritionist. I just read the threaded discussion on 'Type O here', and wow! This could be very challenging. I'm not really interested in consuming meats or fish, but I'd certainly like to get a good overview, (with specifics), of what my blood type shoould be eating according to this paradigm. Thanks! -Vern

Check this out:

http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/typeindexer.htm

Click on any food listing and find out whether it is beneficial, neutral, or avoid for your type. Also tells you why it is good or bad, gives nutrient content of the food, and recipes!

D'Adamo's so rad...

Food selections for vegans & vegetarians?

G'day,

Type O + here. I have enjoyed the ideas from Dr.D'adamo. Steering away from wheat products has helped.

However, I'm curious to learn about the proper food selections for those that are vegetarians & vegans.

Maybe someone is aware of a new food guide pyramid to create balanced meals for this ?

introducing david - type A

Hi everybody,

I am a Type A Secretor. I have been following the blood type diet for about four years now with various degrees of strictness. It has really improved my health, especially digestion, skin, energy levels, and stress response. I recently became a blogger for d'Adamo's website. Check it out to learn all about me! I support everyone finding the diet that works for them. The point of the BTD is that we are not all the same, and there are variations even within each blood type. I encourage you to try the diet for your type strictly for about a month, to really see if it's worth pursuing. Then you can make your own lifestyle choices based on the new info, balancing health with convenience and enjoyment. It has been really great info for me to have and I am really thankful for all the work Dr. D'Adamo has done. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences...

David Ray (Boom)
